| Dr. Rausch will do everything in his power to help patients feel better, except sell them unnecessary or overly-priced products. He explained his traditional position on medicine as a profession and not as business as an emphasis on people rather than profit. “For me it is unseemly to make a profit out of selling cosmetic lines that might not be any better than others selling for less elsewhere,” he said. “Not to mention the possible interference with the doctor-patient relationship that financial incentives can produce.” Dr. Rausch said he understands that the business aspect is part of life, but said “I just would rather keep certain things separate, and selling things to patients at a profit is one them.” | |||||||||
